Designed by General Dynamics, the F-16 Fighting Falcon began service in 1978. The jet fighter ultimately became an all-weather aircraft capable of enduring 9-g turns. The F-16 was relatively cheap to maintain and acquire, equipping the inventories of the United States and twenty-five other countries. Known as Fighting Falcon, the aviators nicknamed this aircraft Viper. This 1/48 scale model faithfully recreates the American F-16 fighter in one of two versions, F-16A or F-16C.
