RMS Olympic was the first Olympic class cruise ship, and the sister ship of the RMS Titanic and RMS British. Harland Wolff shipyard started it in December of 1908, and it launched in 1910. Because of the 1912 Titanic shipwreck, the Olympic was recalled to its shipyards to build an improved structure.
In World War I, HMT Olympic was requisitioned by the Royal Navy as troop, equipment and artillery transport, and so gained the appearance of painted camouflage.
